Coaching Isn’t Academic. It’s Instinct.

The coaching industry is packed with self-proclaimed gurus pushing the fantasy that everyone can be a leader. That’s a load of crap. Frameworks like ICF, AAC, MBTI, and DISC? Just repackaged fluff. Great coaches know when to push and when to pull back. They read micro-expressions and get what’s left unsaid. True coaching starts with confronting the uncomfortable truths clients avoid. It’s a gritty art form, not a textbook lesson.

Real coaching hinges on instinct- something that can't be taught and is hard to find.

Fundamentals Over Flamboyance

What makes the greats, great? Mastery of the basics and repeatedly. Flamboyance is just an accessory. But people chase flash over substance. Princess Margaret had charisma; Queen Elizabeth had discipline. One was magnetic, the other was steadfast. Guess who led a nation?

MBTI, Gallup, DISC -use them if needed, but leadership isn’t a personality quiz. It’s about showing up, day after day, nailing the fundamentals. Leadership isn’t about knowing your type - it’s about knowing what to do when sh*t hits the fan.

Coaches Don’t Matter, Learning Does.

The term coach is just a marketing label. If done right, coaching shouldn’t be a permanent fixture. The journey is unique to each person. The role of a coach? To push when needed, encourage when necessary, and most importantly, raise awareness. I don't matter at all.

Coaching isn’t a quick fix. It’s

awareness → repetition → internalisation.

That takes time. If the goal is just to tick a box, don’t bother.

Find Your Lionel Logue

No sugarcoating. A friend was told he would never be a leader - he was built to be a strong second-in-command. Thirteen years later, he’s thriving in the same company because he embraced that truth. Would you tell a paying client, “Leadership isn’t for you”? Maybe they’ll grow into it, maybe they won’t. But right now, they need to hear the hard truth.

Well, I have the balls to tell you what you dont want to hear and if your coach can't do that - cut them off.

Revenue Is a by product. Growth Is the Priority.

Coaching is sacred. That’s why it’s painful to watch the Insta-guru crowd peddle cheap advice. Words matter. After the initial package, most clients hear: Stop coming to me. You don’t need me anymore. Growth isn’t about endless coaching sessions - it’s about doing the damn work.

I look forward to the day where I can tell my clients -

You don’t need me anymore.

Why Simplifi Exists

15+ years in this space, and the industry’s flaws are obvious. Most coaching firms are commercial machines. No interest in being part of that. The only real way to train people? Scenario-Based Training No aptitude tests. No fluff. Just real-world application, improving communication that helps to strengthen culture which eventually drives productivity.

What Is Scenario-Based Training?

Empathy + Objectivity = Better Decisions.

Most leadership training lacks real-world nuance. Scenario-Based Training forces people into real-world decisions where there’s no perfect answer - only trade-offs. It sharpens emotional intelligence without losing sight of business needs.

This method enhances real-world application by allowing participants to practice decision-making and critical thinking in a safe environment. SBT promotes emotional intelligence as learners navigate complex scenarios that require empathy and objectivity. It boosts retention through active engagement, provides immediate feedback for reflective learning, and can be customized to address specific organizational challenges.

For example

Scenario:

Jack messages Jill (his manager) at 8 AM on a Wednesday:"Hey Jill, I need to take a month off. My mom is in the hospital."

The Parameters: Use Empathy but be objective

What’s your response?
